While we all comply with the stay in place, Doggies-A-GoGo is still walking dogs. On March 16, 2020, there was an Order of The Health Officer, No. C19-07, directing all individuals living in the City of San Francisco to shelter in place of residence. There is an exception to provide or receive certain essential services or engage in certain essential activities and work for essential businesses and government services.
Under Part 10, Section 5, Line a, walking pets are allowed. The specific language is found here. I additionally contacted sf.gov at 311, and they verified that walking dogs is permitted. The 311 operator walker me through the actual page, which can be found here, on page 8, or by searching the word dog on this page, and it states under specific circumstances, dogs can be walked.
The language states:
Are dog walkers allowed?
If nobody is at home to walk the dog because they work for essential businesses or provide essential services, or if the dog's guardians are incapable of walking the dog for medical reasons, then dog walkers are permitted to walk the dog. Otherwise, dog walkers are not permitted. Dog walkers should comply with social distancing requirements -- with respect to themselves and the dogs in their care -- to the greatest extent feasible, which may require reducing the number of dogs walked at a time. Rev. 05/04.2020
